COURSE DESCRIPTION
Welcome to our German A1 course, ideal for beginners. In this course, you’ll start with the basics of German pronunciation and the alphabet. You’ll quickly move on to fundamental grammar concepts, including noun genders, basic verbs, and sentence construction, which are key to forming simple sentences. Throughout the course, you’ll acquire practical vocabulary related to everyday situations like time, colors, numbers, and common activities. Engaging in everyday conversation will become easier as you learn essential phrases for greetings, directions, and dining out. Your listening and comprehension skills will be sharpened through enjoyable audio exercises and straightforward stories. Reading and writing exercises are also an integral part of the course, allowing you to practice and understand written German.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
- Understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases.
- Introduce yourself and others, ask and answer questions about personal details.
- Interact in a simple way when the other person talks slowly and clearly.
- Understand familiar names, words, and very simple sentences, for example, on notices and posters.
- Fill in forms with personal details, for example, entering your name, nationality, and address.
- Write a short, simple postcard, like a holiday postcard.
- Ask and answer simple questions in areas of immediate need or on familiar topics.
- Recognize numbers, prices, and times in everyday situations.
